Water supply

 The communities within the municipality of Vidin get their water supply from 35 water sources, by means of 15 pumping stations with a total capacity of 1,990 l/sec. All communities have water supply. The total length of the water mains is 433 kilometers, of which 150 kilometers of external pipelines and 328 kilometers of internal pipelines. Within the municipality, there are 30 drinking water tanks with a total capacity of 4,990 m3. Due to the fact that drinking water comes from underground sources only (catchments and wells), it doesn't have to be treated. Drinking water is only processed with Chlorine gas in 13 disinfection points.

Sewer

Of all communities within the municipality, only the administrative center, Vidin, has a sewer system. The city's sewer system consists of 59 km of pipes and three sewer pumping stations with a total capacity of 11,610 l/sec. Sewer waters are discharged in the Danube, without treatment. There are no waste-water treatment plants within the municipality.
